Inspiration in e-commerce: Facebook Shops

With the new update, Facebook offers a platform for retailers who want to inspire customers: Facebook Shops.

Facebook Shops were personally announced by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. They should enable retailers to serve both the Facebook and Instagram channels by setting up a single shop. Chic, personal product presentations arouse desires and generate buying impulses - and can lead directly to shopping via the new platform. Shops should be set up by simply selecting the products from the product catalogues, with a matching cover image and the color profile that corresponds to the brand - and it should be extremely simple. The personalized online shop can then be linked to the Instagram business profile. In this way, it should be possible in the future not only to present products in live videos, but also to buy them directly with a simple tag and without having to leave the app.

Also planned: Customers can view a shop directly in a conversation on WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct and place their orders promptly. The "Shops" offer is initially aimed at smaller companies and should be free of charge for retailers - with the exception of payment processing. The project will initially start with selected pilot customers. It is already providing new impetus for the world of e-commerce.
