150 participants from the areas of trade, manufacturers and service providers have worked in interdisciplinary groups over the past two weeks and contributed their business ideas for the time after the lockdown. 29 of them made it into the jury evaluation. Our managing director Johannes Schick sat here next to various trade experts.

His conclusion: “To experience the motivation, the energy and ultimately the innovative ideas of the participants so closely was a great experience. There are promising approaches to revitalize our trade and inner cities.”

The Retail Hack was launched as a hackathon by the IFH Cologne and the initiative "Händler helfen Händlern". The patron is the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. ROQQIO supports the Retail Hack as a partner.

The goal of the first group phase of the hackathon was to develop trading models for the time after the lockdown. In the piloting process that is now starting, it is important to find companies and cities quickly in order to implement the ideas in the short and medium term.
