Webinar: ERP and e-commerce systems hand in hand

How do I integrate e-commerce processes into my existing ERP system? Find out in the webinar "ERP meets E-Commerce" on June 24th how we solve this task together with our partner ecom consulting smart.

In order for customers to experience real omnichannel service, existing and new systems must, figuratively speaking, work hand in hand. However, data and processes in e-commerce often cannot be easily mapped in a retailer's existing ERP system. The existing business software often does not meet the requirements of cross-channel sales processes because the systems, such as ERP or the internal logistics of a company, are usually not geared to the new, agile processes and requirements of digital commerce. Nevertheless, both worlds can be combined to form a well-functioning overall system.

Simplify communication between the systems

At least four systems are used for the click-and-collect process alone – ordering a product online and picking it up in the store: the web shop, through which the customer orders, a system that transfers the reservations of items to a store , a POS / WWS checkout system that confirms the reservation in the shop and a payment service provider such as PayPal, through which the payment is made. Each channel, with its own data format, requests information from the system and sends it back to it. In order for communication to work, the channel-specific data and processes must be homogenized. This minimizes both the complexity of omnichannel and the duration and costs of implementation.

Omnichannel with strategy

If all trading, shipping, warehousing and logistics processes are combined in a central system that acts as an "interpreter" between the respective channel language, the way is clear for the desired overall system that automatically maps all relevant e-business processes. "We can also make mature and outdated systems and IT infrastructures e-commerce-capable and thus implement digital state-of-the-art concepts that enable brick-and-mortar retail to operate with little investment and a fast time-to-market -market to get involved in online trade," says ROQQIO CSO Mario Raatz about the possibilities of the SaaS solution ROQQIO Commerce Cloud. But no system selection without strategy: In the webinar, on June 24th at 11:00 a.m., our partner ecom consulting will also examine the topic from a corporate strategic perspective and show how to anchor e-commerce operations in the company.
